Day 11 Day 11
(Wednesday May 7, 2003) Passport Photo Day
Im keeping
this one short. Today was a big day. The kids went for their photo op session to get
their passport photos done. This is also
probably going to be only the second time Alia has ridden in a car (first time being when
she was taken from the hospital to the orphanage). We
were a little disappointed to find out that we couldnt ride along to watch (Roza,
Gallina and the Head Caretaker went along with the kids), but its a big step towards
getting us out of here on time (next Friday, May 16th). My little Aliyushka (what the caretakers call her)
was her normal self or at least what has become normal today, happy and
chattering up a storm.
After the afternoon
session, Gallina and Roza had a meeting with us back at the apartment. Theyd set us up for court tomorrow morning at
10:00 am. Since weve been here two weeks
and there is a holiday weekend coming up, the judge has granted our hearing a little
earlier than expected. We will not be able to
take the kids home until Monday, but if court goes well tomorrow we will officially be
granted custody. Gallina is trying her hardest
to get everything done so that we will be able to return home next Friday morning. And there is a lot to do. Gallina prepped us on what possible questions the
court may ask, how to appropriately and honestly answer those questions, how to act and
what to wear. We feel ready for a big and
exciting day.
By the way,
pictures may be a little sparser in the future. Ive
been handcuffed by that Web Scrooge Al, he told me Im limited to only 15 (or so)
photos a day or well come close to running out of space on the site. So, I know its less than what youre
used to, but remember, ITS ALS FAULT!!J
Oh sure, blame
me. The real reason is so we'll have less pictures of bugs and more of Alia. (Al) J

We were greeted with a very happy girl today. She found out she was
going for a ride today. Leilani saw her reaction and just started clicking away. |

|
Leilani bribing Alia to come to her instead of Daddy. That's just
rotten honey. Leilani is just jealous because can say "Da Da". I heard it, I
swear! |

|
Mom, I can't wait to play with my big
sisters Livy & Tay. |

|
Kid may be cute, but Geez talk about yer bad fashion sense. |

|
I just love hanging out with my Mommy. She's my best bud. (Even
though I can say Da Da and not Ma Ma) |

|
Alia with her favorite doctor and caretaker. She loves this lady
VERY much. And has been the nicest so far. At the beginning she would always go out of her
way to try and reassure Leilani about Alia's crying bouts. |

|
OK, so we're straight here. I want a new outfit in this color, and
one in this color, and another in this color...... |

|
Not the same very serious boy we met two weeks ago. He just loves
his mom Pam. |

|
"All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth
My two front teeth, my two front teeth"
Hey wait a second, I already got those and I've got half of South Jersey and Philadelphia
eating out of my hands. I need to think bigger here. Mooooooom, let's go shopping. I hear
Daddy loves to do that. |

|
Are you talkin' ta me? I don't see nobody else here, so you must be
talkin' ta me. |

|
Since Dad's takin' his sweet ole time getting these updates of me
out, I better say this here. HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY! To Gram Jewel and Mom Mom and to Grandma
Annette and Grandma Mary and Grandma Pearl. (Wow I got a heckuva lotta Grammys, I must be
REALLY loved) And especially to my most favoritest person in the whole, wide world....My
Mommy! I love you! |
